Harbor View Bridge Replacement

Project Overview

The Harbor View Bridge Replacement project involved demolishing a structurally deficient 1920s-era bridge and constructing a new 450-foot span meeting current seismic standards. Our structural team led the design, working within tight right-of-way constraints while accommodating increased traffic capacity.

Structural Design

The new bridge features a three-span continuous steel plate girder design with a cast-in-place concrete deck. Seismic isolation bearings protect the structure during earthquake events, and the foundations are designed to withstand liquefaction conditions.

Construction Coordination

Working with the contractor, our team developed a construction sequence that maintained one lane of traffic throughout the project. This required temporary shoring designs and detailed staging plans.
